Overview

The Karate Mouse, the 40th book in the Geronimo Stilton series of children’s books, takes readers through yet another adventure in the exciting life of Geronimo, the mouse. Geronimo is a journalist for the fictional newspaper, The Rodent’s Gazette, and lives in Mouse City with other mice characters from the book. The homely, peace-loving Geronimo gets swept into a World Karate Championship by his enthusiastic friends. Geronimo has only a week to prepare for the championship along with Bruce Hyena and Piccolo Tao, Bruce’s athletic cousin. What follows next sets the tone for the uphill task that Geronimo is about to face. The series was popularized in Italy in the year 2000, and is the brainchild of Elisabetta Dami, a bestselling children’s fiction writer. The books and all characters are inspired from the author’s personal life, and are written in an autobiographical manner. Geronimo Stilton is the author’s pseudonym and the name of the lead character of the series. Elisabetta is also famous for other books in the Geronimo Stilton adventure series, and books that are part of the Thea Stilton series. Her books feature attractive images and fun plots, making them ideal among kids aged 8 to 16 years. The Way Of The Samurai is the upcoming paperback in the series, due for release in April 2012.
