The trouble with us Indians is that while we like laughing at others, we cannot laugh at ourselves. This is a great shortcoming and has deprived us of a very valuable aspect of humour. Virtually the only two communities which have the confidence of making jokes against themselves are Sikhs and Parsis. Even among them the margin of tolerance is getting thinner by the day.
